"Kyiv at night": the Museum of the History of Kyiv presented an exhibition of works by Ukrainian artists of the XIX-XXI centuries, inspired by the night beauty of the capital

On the occasion of the Day of Kyiv, the Museum of the History of Kyiv presented an art exhibition of works by Ukrainian artists of the 19th-21st centuries, inspired by the night beauty of the capital. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the KCSA Anna Starostenko.

"With the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the introduction of a curfew, Ukrainians put life on pause every evening. Kievans are deprived of joy to enjoy the atmosphere of the night city. Experiencing such limitations and difficult trials, we are drawn to culture and art, looking for consolation and visual consolation. The project "Kyiv at Night" allows us to enjoy the picturesque views of the night capital of past centuries from Ukrainian artists of the XIX-XX centuries, as well as to see through the eyes of modern artists how the city has changed in recent years. We can mentally return to peaceful Kyiv and for some time plunge into the memories that warm and inspire, give strength for further struggle, "said Anna Starostenko.

According to Diana Popova, General Director of the Museum of the History of Kyiv, this exhibition project aims to immerse visitors in pleasant memories and dreams of desired walks in their favorite places of the night capital.

"Of course, a curfew is a necessary measure under martial law, but we miss our carefree emotions and the opportunity not to rush anywhere in the evening. We believe in the victory of light over darkness, because the darkest night always changes the morning. We dream to meet the peaceful dawn over the Kyiv slopes! And with this exhibition, we strive to give each of our visitors the opportunity, at least for a while, to return to Kyiv, where nightlife was raging, not freezing, "Diana Popova said.

The exhibition "Kyiv at Night" presents the works of famous artists of the past and present - Nikolai Murashko, Alexander Zhivotkov, Moses Weinstein, Elena Priduvalova, Anna Krivolap, Anatoly Marchuk, Anton Logov, Samuel Kaplan and others.

You can visit the exposition until June 30 at the Museum and Exhibition Center of the Museum (Bogdan Khmelnitsky St., 7): on Wednesday-Sunday from 12:00 to 19:00, Monday-Tuesday - weekends.
