Located in the very centre of the city in an incredible atmosphere of cosiness and a thousand-year history, the new Sophia Hotel Kyiv is an ode to Ukrainian hospitality, culture and art. This unique project is the result of the work of the best in their fields Ukrainians. Architects from Balbek Bureau worked on the design of the rooms. Ceramics created by Gunia Project masters and canvases selected by connoisseurs of modern art from The Naked Room Gallery were used in the interior design. Together with the publishing house IST Publishing, they formed an individual library for each room, and conceptualist and perfumer Vlad Zvarych invented an original fragrance for Sophia Hotel Kyiv. Roman Tatarskyi, a Canadian of Ukrainian origin, is the ideologue of the project.
The hotel is located in a building dating back to 1881, and this is another cool feature of the hotel, a fascinating synergy of history and modernity in the city. Sophia Hotel Kyiv is about cosiness in each of its 39 rooms, bold combinations of Ukrainian and European flavours in Cafe Marco (named after the progressive writer Marko Vovchok), freshness of greenery among the stone walls of the city in Walnut garden, practicality and aesthetics in every detail.
“I love it for the modernity both in service and design... Its ritzy location in the historic centre of Kyiv”
“Classic hotel service. Excellent breakfasts.”
You definitely can’t argue with that. The 5-star hotel of one of the largest global chains, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), has been welcoming guests to Kyiv since 2008. A top location was chosen for it. Only 5 minutes walking, and you will find yourself on the glass bridge where people meet the most exciting Kyiv dawns, or on the partying vintage Andriivskyi Descent, or on the bustling Khreshchatyk, or studying the thousand-year-old mosaics of St. Sophia Cathedral — everything is within easy reach. Of course, the interior of the InterContinental also impresses with a high-quality combination of services and elegance. The hotel has 272 rooms of the Standard, Suite, Luxury categories and luxurious Royal and Presidential apartments. An must-do for InterContinental guests is relaxation in the luxurious spa complex and an evening cocktail in the ‘b-hush’ lounge area on the roof with a panoramic view of the centre of Kyiv.
“A modern hotel near the centre, at Shuliavka”
The history of IQ Hotel began in 2012 with a small mini-hotel with several dozen designer-made rooms. In 2019–2020, the project expanded significantly, and now it is a stylish and bright 3-star hotel with 174 rooms, which is adored by both travellers and guests from the nearby streets. The team assures that now, in IQ, you can not only hold “a formal meeting in ties, but also a party in Hawaiian shirts.” The hotel has a transforming space for that. During the day, it can be a chill zone or a workspace with meeting rooms and coffee breaks, and in the evening, the place totally turns into lounge zone full of fun. The hotel offers accommodation in double rooms of the Standard or Smart category. A larger company or family can choose a spacious Superior suite. The hotel also has a restaurant, bar, gym, table football. You just need to cross the road to find yourself in the epicentre of entertainment and shopping in the shopping and entertainment complex COSMO Multymall, which is located in the territory of the former factory and is one of the first and largest revitalisation projects in Ukraine.
“It’s an ideal value for money”
The modern business hotel offering 56 rooms is located in a quiet area near Nyvky metro station, in a 5 minutes’ walking distance from the international exhibition centre KyivExpoPlaza.
“Hotel Florida is in Maia’s TOP for being located near the metro station. 15 minutes by taxi to the centre. Comfortable beds in the rooms. Breakfast is included in the price of accommodation.”
