Oleh Antonov State Aviation Museum

It’s the youngest and at the same time the largest historical and technical museum in the country. It started with only 30 planes, and today, SAM has an exposition of over 80 airplanes and helicopters of different times.

Pyrohiv

Pyrohiv Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine makes it possible for you to travel through time and see with your own eyes how various parts of Ukraine looked several centuries ago. The Microminiatures Museum of Mykola Siadrystyi

There are only two museums of microminiatures in the world — one in the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, and the other is in the dwarf mountain principality of Andorra. So don’t wait for the borders to open and see with your own eyes a horse-shoed flea 20 times smaller than a poppy seed, a rose in a hairline, a caravan of golden camels in the eye of a needle and a portrait of the ballerina Plisetskaya on a cherry stone. And this is only a smallest part of the list of those amazing things that can be seen in the Museum of Microscopic Miniatures in the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.

Mikhail Bulgakov Literary Memorial Museum

It was here that Bulgakov spent his youth and student life from 1906 to 1919. He also returned here from the front of the First World War. There, he worked as a doctor and received patients. It was this house that became central to the plot of Bulgakov’s first novel The White Guard and the play The Days of the Turbins.

National Museum of History of Ukraine in the World War II and Motherland Monument

The National Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War is considered one of the largest in Ukraine in terms of size, as its exhibits are demonstrated in 16 halls that occupy a total area of 5,000 

sq. m. Over 15,000 items are presented here, and a significant emphasis in the exposition is placed on symbols and images that complement the concept of the museum.

The main building of the complex is crowned by the hallmark of Kyiv, the Motherland Monument. The monument impresses with its grandeur.

The figure of a woman with a shield and a sword in her hands is installed on a 40-meter-high conical pedestal (total height — 102 m, weight — about 500 tons), the height of the sculpture — 62 m. The general fund of the museum consists of about 400,000 exhibits.

National Sanctuary Sophia of Kyiv

In 1990, St. Sophia’s Cathedral, with a complex of monastic buildings of the 18th century in its territory, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The fund collections of the sanctuary list more than 80,000 exhibits: these are archaeological collections, items of decorative and applied art, unique architectural projects of different years, a large collection of photographic materials, etc.

Toilet History Museum

Even such facility indispensable in everyday life needs a museum. The total number of toilet seats exhibited in the museum is about 300 exhibits, which are included in the National Register of Records of Ukraine and the Guinness Book of Records for “the largest collection of souvenir toilets in the world”. Museum of Historical Treasures of Ukraine

It is a branch of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine. The museum exhibits jewellery from the Bronze Age, Age of Cimmerians, Scythians, made by antique masters, Sarmatians, ancient Slavs, and coming from the times of the Migration Period and Ancient Rus. You can also see works of Ukrainian masters of the 16th to early 20th centuries, jewellers of Germany, Poland, Russia, France, Great Britain, and Austria.
