The residential building, a characteristic example of late 19th-century urban housing in the Late Classicist style, is a two-storey, brick, plastered structure with a rectangular plan. Its main façade, with nine window axes, features a symmetrical composition typical of the architectural style of that period.
From 1865 to 1900, the house was home to Stepan Mykhailovych Solskyi, the Mayor of Kyiv. During his tenure, the city saw major advancements, including the introduction of the horse-drawn tramway, the construction of the first municipal power station, and the launch of Kyiv’s first electric tram.
