In the summer of 2018, another staircase was solemnly opened, connecting the Landscape Alley with the Honchari-Kozhumyaki tract. They lead from the lower terrace of the alley to Honcharivska Street on Vozdvyzhenka, are over 200 meters long and have 247 steps. The descent at this place has been used by Kyiv residents for over a thousand years, as evidenced by the ancient stone stairs found here, dating back to the 10th century.
In the evening and at night, the descent looks especially impressive thanks to the LED lighting placed in the railings. The lawn of the lower terrace is a popular recreation area for Kyiv residents. People often gather here for picnics, to read a book, play games, or just take a walk to the accompaniment of street musicians. The lawn is decorated with several modern sculptures, in particular, “River-Love” by Oleksandr Lidahovsky in the very center.
