Holy Trinity Ioninsky Monastery

The Holy Trinity Ioninsky Monastery is an Orthodox men's monastery located within the National Botanical Garden. Founded in 1868 by Archimandrite Iona Miroshnychenko of the Vidubitsky Monastery, it was established on the lands of Ekaterina Vasilchikova, the widow of the Governor-General of Kyiv. The monastery was closed by Soviet authorities in 1934 and remained inactive until Ukraine regained its independence.

The main building of the monastery is Trinity Church. The complex also features a wooden bell tower and a clock tower, which is the oldest functioning tower clock in Kyiv, crafted in 1858 in Paris. The Holy Trinity Ioninsky Monastery is a peaceful and serene place, perfect for relaxation after a stroll through the botanical garden. Visitors can take a moment to visit the church and enjoy some quiet time for reflection.
