How to get there?

Air travel

Kyiv has two international airports. The first is Boryspil Airport, which is the largest in Ukraine and has transcontinental status. More than 40 national and foreign airlines operate passenger and cargo services from Boryspil on more than 70 scheduled routes around the world. The airport serves over 15 million passengers annually. It has four terminals, although only two of them are actively used - terminals D and F.

Despite the fact that the airport is located 29 km from Kyiv, it can be reached quickly and conveniently by public transport.

You can use the SkyBus bus, which runs between the South Railway Station and the terminals. The bus runs around the clock with a regularity of 15 minutes during the day and 45 minutes at night. Tickets cost 50 UAH, which is less than $2, and can be purchased online, at the ticket office at the station, or from the driver. You can also get to the airport by a special train, the Kyiv Boryspil Express, which can be taken at either the Central or Darnytskyi railway stations. The journey by train or bus will take 40-50 minutes.

Kyiv Sikorsky Airport is the second largest international passenger airport in Ukraine. It is located only 8 km from the city centre, so you can get there by bus, minibus or trolleybus. One of them also runs at night.

Railway connections

Kyiv has three railway stations - Central, Southern and Suburban. All of them are located next to each other and serve domestic and international trains. The railway network in Ukraine is very extensive, so you can get to almost any city in the country by train. All trains have different classes of comfort - SV, compartment and reserved seats. The largest cities of the country can be reached from the capital by first or second class express trains.

Train tickets can be bought on the website of Ukrzaliznytsia, which is available in three languages, including English. You can also buy a ticket for any destination within the country at any ticket office in the country. Tickets for international flights can only be purchased at international ticket offices. If you are late for the train and do not have a ticket, you can go to an express ticket office, which sells tickets even 15 minutes before the train departure. If you have already bought a ticket, but your travel plans have changed, you can return the ticket and get a refund.
