The monument erected in 1981 in the territory of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the World War II is the second highest in Europe and the highest one in Ukraine. Its height, together with the pedestal, is 102 metres, although it was supposed to be 108 metres, according to the initial design project. The statue is a figure of a woman with a shield and a sword on a 40-metre pedestal. The sculpture is equipped with 2 sightseeing platforms: 1 at a height of 36 metres, and another at a height of 92 metres.
