One of the treasures of the Holosiivskyi Forest's unique ecosystem is an ancient oak named after Mykhailo Mikhalko, a prominent Ukrainian dissident and the key advocate for the creation of the Holosiivskyi National Nature Park. Under the branches of this oak, Mikhalko organized environmental protests, gathered signatures to stop deforestation, and inspired others to join the fight for preserving Kyiv's natural monuments and green spaces. 

Scientists estimate the Mikhalko Oak to be 350 to 400 years old, making it a silent witness to many significant moments in the city’s history. This majestic tree has seen Kyiv that was once entirely different. Visitors often speak of feeling a special energy in its presence, believing it offers peace, strength, and serves as a source of inspiration and inner harmony.
