The Kissing Bench was installed for World Kiss Day on July 6, 2012. Shaped like lips, this unique bench is crafted from steel and special plywood, with the design created by artist Ustim Fedko. Five similar art benches can be found throughout Kyiv, each mimicking the contours of lips while showcasing its own distinctive design. These Kissing Benches are located at: the Obolon Embankment in the Alley of the Muses; in Podil, near the observation platform at Richard Castle; in Khreshchaty Park by the Water Museum; in Mariinsky Park in front of the Mariinsky Palace; and at the Grishko Botanical Garden along Maple Alley. Each location was chosen intentionally, as these are the spots where lovers first expressed their most important words, and where many Kyiv couples shared their first kisses.
