About the place

This is one of the most famous buildings in Kyiv. After all, from 1906 to 1922, the family of the talented writer Mikhail Bulgakov lived there. There he spent his childhood, youth, first medical practices, and wrote his first works. It was the house on Andriivskyi Descent that was the focus of the plot of the famous White Guard.

The museum’s collection consists of 47 personal items of Bulgakov (notably manuscripts); several hundred books/journals/letters/handbills/theatre tickets of his family, a total of some 400 memorabilia. It also includes approximately 1,000 personal belongings of the writer’s favourite sister, Nadia Zemska.
