Established in 2007 to preserve and restore the valuable natural landscapes of the Forest Steppe and Kyiv Polissia, Holosiivskyi National Nature Park is unique in Ukraine and one of the few in the world located entirely within city limits. It encompasses several areas, the largest being M. Rylskyi Holosiivskyi Park and the adjacent Holosiivskyi Forest, along with the Lisnyky tract and the Svyatoshyno-Bilichanskyi Forest. 

Spanning nearly 110 square kilometers, the park is home to moose, roe deer, hares, foxes, wild boars, and rare species of forest birds. Among its flora, 24 species of plants listed in Ukraine's Red Book grow right alongside urban neighborhoods. 

One of the park's main highlights is its ancient oak trees, found throughout its expanse. The park’s nature is deeply intertwined with history: prehistoric humans once hunted here, pagan rituals were held, and remnants of military fortifications serve as a reminder of World War II.
