Monument to Mykola Gogol

At the intersection of Rusaniv Boulevard and Rusaniv Embankment, nestled between two high-rise buildings, stands a monument to the illustrious Mykola Gogol. Created by sculptor A. Skoblikov, alongside architects I. Ivanov and K. Sidorov, this monument was unveiled in 1982.

The bronze profile, nearly three meters tall, rises majestically on a granite pedestal, captivating viewers with its impressive scale. During the day, it glimmers in the sunlight, while at night, it is softly illuminated by the warm glow of street lamps. Gogol's gaze is directed toward the picturesque landscapes of the Dnipro's right bank. In his right hand, he holds a book, and a casually thrown overcoat drapes over his left shoulder.

The front of the monument features a sweeping depiction of Gogol’s painting, stylized as a facsimile, while the back bears an inscription noting the date of installation—August 13, 1982—and the names of its creators. Traditionally, this spot has been a popular meeting place for young people in Rusanivka.
