The first wooden parachute tower on Trukhaniv Island was constructed in 1937. It stood on a solid concrete foundation and was initially used for training paratroopers. However, during World War II, the tower was destroyed. In peacetime, it was restored and quickly became one of the island's main attractions.
In 1987, the original wooden structure was replaced with a metal one, and a test site for airplane and machine models was established nearby. Unfortunately, four years later, the tower was closed. Thanks to the efforts of dedicated enthusiasts, it reopened to visitors in 2007.
Today, the 47-meter parachute tower is a favorite spot for thrill-seekers and those looking for a romantic getaway. Experienced parachutists come here to hone their skills, while beginners can enjoy tandem jumps with an instructor. The tower also offers excellent facilities for climbing and bungee jumping. At a height of 36 meters, there’s an observation deck that provides breathtaking panoramic views of the Dnipro and the city.
