The Obolonsky Island recreational area was inaugurated on Kyiv Day in 2024, with its development beginning back in 2021. The island is accessible via two bridges: the first, the Wave Bridge, connects the Obolon Embankment to the Natalka Park, while the second, a technical bridge, is located near Pryrichna Street.
A standout feature of Obolonsky Island is its expansive beach, complete with sun loungers, lifeguard towers, drinking water fountains, free public restrooms, showers and changing rooms. There's also a medical station on-site. The beach area features volleyball courts, adding to the enjoyment of visitors.
The island boasts separate paths for pedestrians and cyclists, along with children’s playgrounds and various sports facilities. Importantly, the infrastructure has been designed to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities, ensuring that everyone can enjoy this beautiful space.
