Bobrivnia River

The Bobrivnya River, small yet picturesque, flows through Muromets Island, dividing it into northern and southern sections, creating a unique natural retreat right in the heart of Kyiv. The river likely received its name from the beavers that once thrived in this area, building dams and huts along the banks, which helped shape the riverbed.

Bobrivnya stretches for 2 kilometers, with a width of 20 to 25 meters and a maximum depth of about 3 meters. One of its distinctive features is the many bays adorned with lush thickets of reeds and water lilies, fostering an atmosphere of peace and harmony. The river's clean waters are home to a variety of fish, waterfowl, and wildlife.

For those who enjoy active recreation, there are opportunities to rent boats and kayaks, go fishing, have a picnic, or simply unwind in secluded spots along the shore, immersing yourself in the tranquility and beauty of the natural surroundings.
