About the place
A small park dedicated to the third president of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, was opened next to the country’s embassy in April 2013 in honour of the politician’s 90th anniversary.
The central architectural element of the square is a fountain in the form of a waterfall flowing down the wall, on which a mosaic panel is laid out, the only life-size copy of the 500-year-old Sheikh Safi carpet in the world. Murano glass and Italian tiles were used for its creation. Landscaping of the territory includes plants inherent in the flora of Azerbaijan: quince, plums, acacias, maples, sakuras, etc.
