About the museum
At the beginning of the last century, the families of Lesia Ukrainka, Mykola Lysenko and Mykhailo Starytskyi settled in a cosy corner of Kyiv. Later, Panas Saksahansky moved in next door, and Ivan Franko visited whenever he came to our city. Since this amazing neighbourhood of artists was formed, this corner of Kyiv has truly become a unique centre of Ukrainian spiritual life, and contemporaries began to call it the Ukrainian Parnassus. Today, the Museum of Prominent Figures is a complex of memorial houses of prominent figures that tell the story of the life, work and public activities of famous Ukrainians: the Kosach, Starytsky, Lysenko, Franko and Tobilevych families. The museum offers memorial exhibitions thematic excursions exhibitions concerts lectures children's programmes
