Museum of prominent figures of Ukrainian culture
The museum is about the life, work and public activities of prominent Ukrainians: the Kosach, Starytsky, Lysenko, Franko and Tobilevych families. The museum's expositions tell about the contribution and influence of prominent personalities on the preservation, research, development of Ukraine's true elite culture and the development of Ukrainian statehood. The place near the center of Kyiv, where the families of Lesya Ukrainka, Mykola Lysenko, Mykhailo Starytskyi, Panas Saksahanskii, and Ivan Franko lived, is called Ukrainian Parnassus. This is a place where you can not only discover pages from the lives of true Ukrainian geniuses unknown to the general public, but also have fun and enjoy your time. The museum is located near the city center at 93-97 Saksahanskoho Street. You can get there on foot or by public transport from the Universytet, Vokzalna, and Palats Sportu metro stations. The National Center for Folk Culture “Ivan Honchar Museum” is an open cultural and artistic institution of educational, scientific and recreational type, which promotes the continuity of experience and knowledge in the field of traditional folk culture. The museum was founded on the basis of a private collection and the principles of the artist and ethnographer Ivan Honchar's work. The museum is located in the center of Kyiv on one of its picturesque hills above the Dnipro River. The main exhibition is closed for reconstruction.
