Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 18 begins its history in 1885, when a two-storey building of faculty surgery and a therapeutic clinic with 50 beds was built, which belonged to the University of St. Volodymyr.
In 1888, an obstetric and gynecological clinical building appeared nearby.
In 1899, extensions to the building were put into operation, which housed infectious maternity beds, gynecological wards, hydrotherapy departments, and a library. The completion of the clinical ensemble was the construction of the building of the pathological institute in the 1894.
