It was installed on the Day of Kyiv in 1996. The composition consists of three marble sculptures on a granite pedestal: in the centre is Princess Olga, to the left is the Apostle Andrew the First-Called, and to the right are the enlighteners Cyril and Methodius.
After Prince Ihor's death in 944, his wife Olha became regent under his young son Sviatoslav and the de facto ruler of Kyivan Rus. Princess Olha took cruel revenge on the villagers for the execution of her husband. The villagers sent ambassadors to Kyiv and offered the princess to become the wife of their prince Mal.
However, the princess resorted to cunning, and on her orders, the first ambassadors were buried alive, and the second were burned in a bathhouse. The third revenge was a campaign to the land of the Derevlyans, where 5,000 people were cut to pieces. This was followed by a year-long siege of the town of Iskorosten, which ended with its burning.
