The buildings at 24 and 28 Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard are adorned with 11 mosaics created by the renowned artist couple Anatolii Haidamaka and Larysa Mishchenko between 1967 and 1973, forming a series titled “Man and Nature.” Three of them are located on building No. 28 and are combined into the triptych “The Birth and Death of the Forest.” The theme of the triptych is connected to a furniture store that operated in this building in the second half of the 20th century. The unity of man and nature is reflected in the first panel of the triptych, “The Beginning of a Tree’s Life,” which depicts a person planting trees. The mosaic ensemble “Man and Nature,” which includes the monumental work “The Beginning of a Tree’s Life,” has been granted the status of a newly identified cultural heritage site (monumental art).
