The pedestrian-bicycle bridge over Volodymyr Hill, measuring 216 meters in length and between 6 to 14 meters in width, is also known as the Glass Bridge and has become a true legend of Kyiv. This location is immensely popular among tourists and residents of the capital.
The idea of connecting the Khreshchatyi Park and Volodymyr Hill has been discussed since the mid-20th century, but it wasn't realized until 2017. The bridge was constructed under the initiative of Vitali Klitschko, who officially opened it in May 2019, coinciding with Kyiv Day. This is why the bridge is often referred to as "Klitschko's Bridge."
The name "Glass Bridge" comes from the unique glass elements in its design. Special lighting, observation platforms with glass inserts underfoot, and panoramic views of the Dnipro River, Podil, European Square, and the Left Bank make this bridge one of the most beloved spots for photoshoots.
The bridge provides a convenient pathway for pedestrians and cyclists between St. Michael's Square and Khreshchatyi Park. It is also a fantastic place to meet dawns in Kyiv.
