The monument, erected in 1981 on the territory of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War, is the second highest monument in Europe and the highest in Ukraine. Its height together with the pedestal is 102 meters, although according to the first project it was supposed to be 108 m. The statue is a figure of a woman with a shield and a sword on a 40-meter pedestal. The sculpture is equipped with 2 observation decks: 1 at a height of 36 meters, and the other at a height of 92 m.
