In the summer of 2018, the solemn opening ceremony of another stairway connecting the Landscape Alley and the Honchari-Kozhumiaky tract, took place. They lead from the lower terrace of the Alley to Honcharivska Street at Vozdvyzhenka, are more than 200 meters long and have 247 steps. The descent at this place has been used by Kyivites for more than a thousand years, as evidenced by the ancient stone stairs found here, dating back to the 10th century.
In the evening and at night, the descent looks especially impressive thanks to the LED lighting placed in the railing. The lawn of the lower terrace is a popular recreation spot for residents of Kyiv. People often gather here for picnics, to read books, play games, or just take a walk to the accompaniment of street musicians. The lawn is decorated with several modern sculptures, in particular River of Love by Oleksandr Lidahovskyi in the very centre.
