VDNG is the only state exhibition institution in Ukraine that has been operating on the territory of the Holosiivsky forest since 1958.

This is the fifth largest such complex in the world, with a total area of 286 hectares, where there are 180 buildings, 20 of which are architectural monuments. They form the only architectural ensemble in Ukraine and Europe, in which all traditional orders and styles are used. The forest park zone of VDNG occupies about 200 hectares of the Expocenter area and is one of the largest recreational areas in Kyiv.

Also here are the Equestrian Complex, the Zoo, the Dinosaur Park, the Museum of Science. In 2021, the first part of the urban park was opened, which is a sports cluster with a skate park, grounds for the street sports, dance, workout and parkour grounds.

In the warm season VDNG has the "Country of Entertainment" project, and in winter – "Winter Country" with the entertainment, recreation areas, various activities and events for adults and children.
