Trukhaniv Island at the very heart of the city

It’s one of the oldest locations, which, at the same time, a favourite place of leisure for Kyiv residents and visitors. The Island lays in the middle of the Dnieper, and free entry is across the Pedestrian Bridge. There are bike paths, tennis and volleyball courts, kayaks and boats for rent. Fans of beach recreation can stay on the beach itself or rent comfortable sunbeds.

How to get there: walk from Poshtova Ploshcha (Postal Square) metro station. Entering the Island by car is not possible.

Pushcha-Vodytsia

It’s probably the most charming forest massif of the capital having a special charm of a resort town. Here, you can completely hide yourself from human eyes by choosing one of the walking and cycling routes along the lakes. But a special pleasure is the tram 12 route from Kontraktova Ploshcha (the Square of Contracts) to Pushcha-Vodytsia, which runs through the dense, green tunnel of love in the middle of the forest.

Volodymyrska Hirka (St. Volodymyr Hill)

Volodymyrska Hirka is one of the oldest parks in the capital. This picturesque place sits on the magnificent hills over the Dnieper river, not far from St. Michael’s Monastery. Wonderful views and landscapes, a pleasant atmosphere, architectural and historical monuments — all this makes recreation in the park unforgettable and informative. In addition, here you can ride the funicular or sit in an elegant gazebo.

The Expocentre of Ukraine, National Complex

A great example of a recreational area that is constantly developing.

The territory of the Expocentre of Ukraine is a unique city within a city, with its own infrastructure and microclimate. While in Soviet time, the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy was primarily an exhibition and cultural and economic centre, now, it is a cultural and innovation centre.

Mystetskyi Arsenal

It’s the largest museum and exhibition complex in Kyiv and entire Ukraine, opened in 2007.

Arsenal’s total area is 60,000 sq. m, and total area from 12,000 to 24,000 sq. m is now in use.

The Arsenal’s building (1803) was formerly the main weapons manufacturing plant in Kyiv and the entire province.

This is a huge museum and cultural space with a large supply of modern exhibitions, theatre projects, festivals, fashion presentations, art events — everything that the creative human imagination is capable of.
